Last night, October 1st, in New York City, Montreal’s Eyesteelfilm was awarded 2 Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Lixin Fan’s “Last Train Home” won for both Best Feature Documentary and Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting – Long Form. The awards were associated with the US broadcast of the film on PBS’s POV strand, in 2011.
The awards were unexpected, and have given reason for us at Eyesteelfilm to reflect on the contribution and commitment of so many Canadian, Chinese and International partners, without whom this production would not have been possible. We’d like to thank first and foremost the Zhang family for their participation:
We’d like to thank our production and distribution partners (in alphabetical order):

Channel 4 UK
The Governments of Canada and Quebec (tax credit programs)

The Jan Vrijman Fund (IDFA)

And of course our amazing friends and collaborators in China, YuanFang Media
