Selected in World Premiere at the Berlinale in February 2014 and at the Rendez-vous du cinéma Québécois, QUE TA JOIE DEMEURE received a Special Mention of the Jury during FICUNAM in Mexico in March 2014, and continues it’s world tour in over 20 countries.

Produced by Sylvain Corbeil and Nancy Grant for Metafilm, “Que ta joie demeure” is an open-ended exploration of the energies and rituals of various workplaces. From one worker to another and one machine to the next; hands, faces, breaks, toil: what kind of absurdist, abstract dialogue can be started between human beings and their need to work? What is the value of the time we spend multiplying and repeating the same motions that ultimately lead to a rest – a state of repose whose quality defies definition?

For his eighth feature film, Denis Côté has gathered actors Guillaume Tremblay, Emilie Siguoin, Hamidou Savadogo, Ted Pluviose, Olivier Aubin and Cassandre Emanuel. Frédéric Cloutier (sound design), Nicolas Roy (editor) are once again his collaborators on the film. Jessica Lee Gagné (Sarah préfère la course) is the director of photography.

Written, produced and directed by Denis Côté, the film is distributed in Canada by EyeSteelFilm Distribution and Berlin-based company Films Boutique is in charge of international sales. QUE TA JOIE DEMEURE has been released in theaters in Quebec in April 2014, and is now available on VOD is selected countries.
