Who made 2009 shine? Send your votes in for the Global 100 now
by: realscreen staff Jan 11, 2010Here’s a reminder that it’s time once again to send in your nominations for the Global 100, realscreen’s listing of the top production companies working in factual and documentary television and film as named by you, members of the non-fiction entertainment industry. We’d like your feedback by February 12.
As with previous years, this year we’re asking you to submit your own personal lists of the docs and factual programs that you believe were the most innovative, original, best executed and just plain best productions of 2009, and the production companies behind them. (Fear not – if you don’t know the prodcos behind the projects, we’ll do the research and track them down.)
However, there is an additional set of criteria this year that we would like you to consider with your nominations. In order to make this year’s list more representative of both the wide range of production companies creating top quality work around the world and the range of subject matter covered by non-fiction prodcos, we would like you to submit what you think were the best pieces of work from the past year in the following categories:
Factual Entertainment
History
Lifestyle
Music, Arts and Culture
Political, Social and Religious
Science & NatureWe feel that asking you to consider these categories when casting your nominations will result in a list that will be truly diverse, both from an international and topical perspective.
Send your nominations in by Feb. 12 to senior writer Lindsay Gibb via lgibb@brunico.com, staff writer Kelly Anderson via kanderson@brunico.com or editor Barry Walsh at bwalsh@brunico.com or editor@realscreen.com. If you are nominating a prodco, please state a project or two that your choice produced over the past year. And feel free to include any comments about your choice, and the projects they were behind, as we’d like to include industry commentary concerning the work of the past year within the report.
