Jury Comments:
Linda Västrik combines splendid imagery which are always at the service of the intentions of the film with day to day observations of various concerns of the tribal inner life. She manages to give a word to the members of the tribe letting them explain and act their legends, beliefs and conflicts addressing often the camera and openly dealing with the authors presence thus keeping away any distorting distance while avoiding judiciously romanticism. Forest Of The Dancing Spirit is a strong and fascinating document of the cultural richness of our world on the edge of irretrievable impoverishment and hopefully a call for respect for others and life.
The jury presented Linda Västrik the Peter Wintonick Special Jury Award for First Appearance , worth € 2,500.
Linda Västrik awarded the title Adventurer of the Year 2012 – Årets Äventyrare 2012
