On October 1st 2012, in New York City, Montreal’s Eyesteelfilm was awarded 2 Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Lixin Fan’s “Last Train Home” won for both Best Feature Documentary and Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting – Long Form. The awards were associated with the US broadcast of the film on PBS’s POV strand, in 2011.
The awards were unexpected, and have given reason for us at Eyesteelfilm to reflect on the contribution and commitment of so many Canadian, Chinese and International partners, without whom this production would not have been possible. We’d like to thank first and foremost the Zhang family for their participation:
Changhua Zhang
Suqin Chen
Qin Zhang
Yang Zhang
Tingsui Tang
We’d like to thank our production and distribution partners (in alphabetical order):
Cat and Docs
Channel 4 UK
The Governments of Canada and Quebec (tax credit programs)

The Jan Vrijman Fund (IDFA)
